1st Dress

My first sewing project:- a pillow case dress, the simplest of all dresses.

I am a beginner in sewing and I am not ashame to admit that. To be able to use a machine, cut a pattern and sew a dress is like a dream came true for me. It's something I thought really impossible at first as I give up easily.

Well, what do you think of my first output?

Too bad, my daugher does not want to wear it, no matter how hard I try to persuade her. She is one fussy 2 year old. Well, I think I'll get a more attractive fabric to play around and hope one day she will like it. Meanwhile, this dress will be kept for someone less fussy.Who would that be?

1st Tutorials

I have just contemplating to take class in sewing when I realize that there are many tutorials available online. I saw this tutorial from Sew It, the owner is Mayya, a very talented artist or crafter. I have yet to read the whole blog but her blog sure make it to my daily visits. Here are the tutorial to make patchwork cushion cover. I will post it here for my own use. I will try it one day! Thank you Mayya and Vanessa for sharing. I love the colours that Vanessa used to make this cushion cover. I love green and pink combination very much. Now, I think I have some inspirations to learn more about this craft world thingy. I have just made 3 orders of fabrics...yes, for someone who doesn't know how to sew, I hope the purchases will force me to take up this hobby seriously...yay..

Craftzone Malaysia

I went to my parent's house this morning and on the way back I was thinking, should I take a sewing class or should I just learn on my own.

I have made some projects last week but yet to post them here as I have misplaced my camera. Will take some photo of my first work as soon as I manage to find where the tiny camera is.

Meanwhile, I found this blog that unites crafter in Malaysia and some Malaysian staying overseas. It's a cool blog but I think I am not a crafter yet to qualify as a member..hehehe. We will see if lazyness won't set in.

Meanwhile have a look at our crafter's work at Craftzone Malaysia. Let's see if this page can help someone like me how to sew before I finally decided to take a class. Anyway, in case all fail, anyone knows a place where I can learn how to sew?

My Journey Begins..

I created this blog just a few hours ago. Since I am on a hiatus from baking and have left my cake blog rest for a while, I have decided to venture into something to fill up my time. I need something to occupy my time, which I can do while sitting down watching TV or If I am not watching, my daughter will be watchhing. That will leave me with no activity after work. I reach home from work at 5pm on the dot. Yes, on the dot as everyone is very punctual in my office and nobody dare to stay alone beyond 4.30pm. The drive home will take me 20 to 25 minutes. So I am free till 10 pm.

I chose sewing or more of something to do with craft as I like to create things. I do like to use my imaginative. I have zero knowledge about sewing. I don't even know how to use a sewing machine till last week. So this is a real challenge for me. I am not very sure how long I will survive with this new endeavour but I will try. I started baking in 2004 and have made myself satisfied with what I can do. I know there are so many things I still need to learn but I'll do it another time. When I have more energy. Meanwhile, where's mummy's needle and thread Sona...!!!
